Day 8 : Into the shattered lead mines

Keld - Reeth : 18km

The region between Keld and Reeth was heavily mined for lead in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. But the industry collapsed at the end of the 19th century leaving a devastated countryside littered with spoil heaps, mine shafts and derelict buildings. So into this blighted chaos on a rainy morning for day 8.

  1. Not very nice weather for you today my lovely. Oh well, you can't have sunshine all the time. We have cold and overcast today, so the jumpers are out again! Have a good day. Stay safe. xx
