Day 14 : Comete

For once there was no need to start the day with a long climb. The Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge is already 'up there' at  about 400m. It's the only place for miles around and is a fantastic spot to stay if you are hiking on the moors.
The walk today started out with terrific views across open moorland and then little by little, and then all of a sudden, there was moorland no more! Across Danby High Moor and along the eastern rim of Great Fryup Dale ( stunning views, very odd name!) and down into Glaisdale where the moors yield to the greenery of the vale. Then through Egton Bridge and on to Grosmont where there is a pub, a revived steam railway and really nothing much else!
Here's the pictures from one more golden April day.
